Ice Is Not Nice

Screenshot_20190201-114517_Google.jpg

Good morning and happy Friday everyone it’s so nice to have a morning to relax and chill headed into the weekend. I was headed to work this morning and I started to slide on the ice on the road a few times and I was like NO WAYY! It’s just a job and while I’m thankful I will not be risking truck skating to come in today.lol. So with an unexpected day off to chill I thought I would blog today and check in with everyone! I just want to give God the glory that his grace saved a brother from a major accident this morning! I hope you all have a nice cup of hot coffee because it’s about that time to get started!Screenshot_20190201-114427_Google.jpg

IMG_20190131_210846_518.jpg

Today is the very first day of my 5 days fast and I am super nervous! My previous best was a 3 day and while it was tough I got thru it surprisingly well! That last extended fast was months ago and even though I fast daily this one will be my longest fast to date! During the fast, I will be having a few calories from Sugarless coffee, salt, and mineral water drinks and of course plenty of fresh water to stay hydrated. Plus I will be taking a multivitamin along the way just to be sure to get all of the correct levels of potassium and magnesium. The reason I’m nervous is kind of weird, it’s because I always get nervous the first time I try anything new! This is so true for me because my inner child thinks I’m out of my mind for doing this! Trust me when I tell you all that I have done a ton of research on fasting and I have also installed an out clause if I start to feel too uncomfortable or I get dizzy and light headed! I’m hoping to really kickstart my fat burning by doing this but also to get rid of all the toxins and things that build up in the body all the time. Wish me luck and feel free to ask how things are going or if you have any questions about starting your own fast and want a partner I’m in!

When I arrived back home today I decided to go ahead and get my 3rd lift of the week in early so that I wouldn’t wait till later and get lazy! I did Chest and Triceps today and I can feel myself getting stronger and stronger. I’m in the process of picking some kind of Cardio routine this weekend and I’m not sure which type to do. I’ve heard HIIT workouts are awesome but as a bigger guy I’m not sure if they are right for my body and I don’t want to hurt myself. I’ve seen some cool videos with low impact cardio on Utube that look very promising so maybe that’s the route to take. The only drawback to doing my workouts at home is that I don’t have the gym pool and swimming is such a really fun form of cardio! I really do miss that part about the gym however I don’t miss paying the membership.lol. The best way to get better results is to put a different demand on your body at certain times so it has to work parts it’s not accustomed to!

Since I’m not working at the job today I plan on working on my Utube channel and editing a few of the videos I have made so far. Editing is really hard but it’s so worth it to see the hard work pay off! I’m also planning to do a few other things today such as: run a few errands with my better half, get this blog done, work on changing everything over to my business name Big boy Koncepts, watching the show Grimm with the kiddoes and working on the new podcast that I plan to drop tomorrow! So all and all not really a day off just a day away from my other job and I must say I am completely o.k with it because I would rather be doing these things anyway, to be honest!

My food has really been going great and it’s becoming automatic for me to eat low carb while not always Keto. Like I have always said, “Results are all that matter when it comes to the foods you eat.” Don’t get me wrong if it doesn’t taste good I won’t be eating it so for me as long as I am getting the results that line up with my dream that those are the right foods to consume! It’s been a steady diet of baked chicken, green smoothies and crack slaw sprinkled in here and there along with Coffee. I had some bunless burgers the other day to mix it up but I’m a Chicken addict some I’ll just keep doing me. lol. Plans are in the works to make a whole new list of recipes that I can tinker with and make low carb including my Enchilada baked chicken! There are so many things I have been needing to try because after a while the diet needs to include some different flavors!

Enjoy your weekend everyone and please be safe and careful when you are out and about! Thank you so much for reading and I’ll be back soon!

The Light

Screenshot_20180815-063317.jpg

Don’t be shocked but I’m writing again in the same week!.lol. The idea that I am even up is a miracle because I was very tired this morning and 3:45 seems to be coming faster and faster every single morning. The things we put ourselves through to get to where we want to be huh?! It’s my life and I’m in charge so I got off my ass and got out of a perfectly warm bed! I’m happy to say that I am feeling a ton more energy now that my coffee is brewing just yards away from me! My routine is coming into form and while I have so much to improve on it’s a step in the direction I have chosen! Good morning to you and blessings to the things in your plan that are driving you this morning! You can and you will! Let’s get started:

Screenshot_20180815-063456.jpg

Today was an early morning meeting with my stationary bike and it certainly woke me up! This is the first of 2 cardio workouts I have planned today with the other being when I go to work later this afternoon. Getting up early means you get a great jump on the day but it’s certainly not for everyone, to be completely honest it didn’t feel great for me this morning either but it’s getting easier with every alarm! I can’t tell you that there is some magical advice about getting up and going to the gym or your basement where you put in work, all I can tell you is you feel better once you start sweating and breathing harder. The process sucks sometimes and if you think it won’t then hey your winning but for me, it can be. The only truth is you absolutely can’t get to the goals you set if you don’t do something, some form of action has to be taken to get you closer and for me, it’s the gym! Today I did 30 minutes of the bike and I pushed along a little more than I did Monday, that was my goal and now that it’s done I’m confident I will win the second half of the cardio later at work! Can I be completely honest? I’m scared every single time I go into that job because I have doubts that I can keep up or that I won’t do a great job, it just is what it is but I have to keep going because of the goal to be great, a greater version of myself!

Yesterday I had a really yummy plate of stir fry I made with boneless, skinless thighs and mixed veggies and it was amazing! You all know how I feel about simple and easy recipes and this one was elementary! I just sauteed some thighs in delicious avocado oil and steamed some mixed veggies from Sam’s club and mixed them together with a little tangy homemade sauce I made from ginger, wor sauce and a little honey! I know that honey isn’t very keto so I used a very small amount on a really large amount of veggies(like 3 cups of veggies!) so I’ll take it! Instead of talking about every meal I eat I think I will just highlight my favorite meal I had of the week and for this week that stir-fry is the winner hands down because it was filling and delicious plus very healthy! The key to any diet is finding meals that are delicious so that you will stick with it even when you aren’t thinking about it!

So as I have said before my family and I are doing these electronic curfews with our phones and stuff in favor of spending more quality time together and preparing for the following day. So far I have really enjoyed getting off my phone by 8 and not even looking at it till I get up at 4 a.m. The time has allowed me to prepare for this day coming up as well as meditate and get better rest. The key for me is a good ole fashion routine I can get used to doing every day no matter what and I like where this is headed for all of us. I’m a gadget guy and I absolutely love cell phones and all their features but I’m learning to love ME more and the process of what makes me tick, so that means putting the device down and working on my own software download if that makes sense.lol. I’m really proud of the kids because I know it’s much harder for them but they seem to be doing a great job of executing our new plan!

Screenshot_20180815-063416.jpg

If you guys get a chance you should check out this guy Light Watkins on Youtube for meditation, I have been really amazed at how simple and easy he makes the whole process and I hope to be a pro at it soon! I really like the idea of giving myself time to relax and get into a better feeling of consciousness. If you have been thinking of trying it I highly recommend this dude, he really seems to embrace the realities of meditation and allows for more freedom and flexibility!

Oh and 1 last thing I have decided to do my podcast once a week every Saturday morning so be on the lookout for that if you think you may be interested! Big Boi Koncepts!  My podcast is everywhere podcasts are heard and soon to be on Apple podcast as well! I would love your feedback and input and I know I can be of service! I love you all today as much as every day and enjoy the HUMP yall!

Routine

Screenshot_20180813-062109.jpg

Good morning and happy Monday! I know I have been missing in action for a week or so but I am happy to report my hiatus was for a great cause! I want to say to each and every one of you who are reading this post that you are worthy and valuable beyond measure and I am honored that you have given me your time today! This time I haven’t had my coffee yet but I am hoping to grab a big healthy delicious mug as soon as we are done! Let’s get started!

The new job has been very challenging but also very rewarding! My body has been sore and achy from all the walking and running around serving and helping the team. It has been every bit of what I have expected and then some. My feet have been hurting to the point I have taken some Ibuprofen just to feel a little less pain and while I hate to take that stuff I am finding that it has helped on the days that I work. Since my job has been my cardio I have only been lifting weights at the gym but that all changed this morning! Today I got up at about 4 a.m and hit the gym for a little 30-minute ride on the stationary bike to get in a little morning exercise. My hope is that I will be able to wake up at this time every single day and make it my new routine. Sometimes I’ll lift weights in the morning and sometimes I’ll do some cardio but it is my plan to go at least Mon- Thursday at the minimum. I’m praying that this will help me sleep better as well as perform at a high level in different areas of my life!

My diet has been the same with the exception of having a few more carbs than I usually have. I don’t think I made this decision willingly I think I have just been focused on so many other things that I haven’t been as tight with it as I normally am. Still focusing very much on the quality of the foods and not as much on quantity, but I try not to go too far away from my 2500 calories a day. I don’t meal prep as much as before but we all make dinner as a family and that really has been fun coming up with ideas we all like that are healthy. Along with my daily coffee, I have been trying out a new green powder to get in my greens on the regular. I will certainly leave a picture in this post for you all but I am still trying to decide if I can really tell a difference since I have been using it. The price was less than 20 dollars and I had read so many great reviews I had to give it a try. I will say this, early on I’m really loving the simplicity of throwing the scoop of powder in my water instead of blending my regular green monster! The taste is about average but I’m not very good at rating taste because I have been told that I can stand strong and maybe questionable flavor in the name of a healthy option but for me, it’s very easy to drink but it is by no means delicious in my book.lol. It’s called Terra Origin green superfoods and it contains just about every single nutrient I was looking for in a green smoothie plus it does blend very well! I found it on Amazon and you all know I don’t do affiliate stuff yet but if your looking for an affordable supplement that is packed full of cold pressed healthy nutrients it may be worth your time!

The reason I have been in and out as far as blogging is because I have been researching and developing some strategies in other areas of my fat loss journey such as meditation and fasting. You all know I have been fasting for a while now but I have recently been looking into meditation and the data that surrounds it! O.k I’m a nerd about research but that’s just my thing and I have found that the more weapons I have to battle the better. Today was my first day meditating and I’m just getting my feet wet but I am extremely curious about the subject! Part of being healthy is having balance and surely the mind is a key in that balance! So, for now, I am committed to doing some light meditation a few times a day to exercise my meditation muscle. I absolutely love learning new things and I will certainly write more about this in the future. As far as fasting, I have been doing alternate day fasting for the last 2 weeks while working and I have decided to change it up this week and do 18:6. I’ve learned that my body gets used to what I am doing and it doesn’t seem to respond the way it does when I change it up so here goes another change. I’ll probably eat between 2 p.m. and 8 p.m on most days and then on the weekend, I’ll probably stop eating after 2 p.m depending on what we have going on.

Screenshot_20180813-062334.jpg

The podcast has been taking a good chunk of my time lately because I have been trying to develop which direction I want to go and how to get things together. Right now I don’t have an intro or music and at the moment I am simply stepping out on faith that this is something I have always wanted to do! Now the work begins because I am in the process of organizing my ideas and finding my voice if that makes sense. Big Boi Koncepts Big Boi Koncepts! is certainly a labor of love and has taken a ton of my time although I have only done 2 episodes I am in the process of adding new content and shows all the time!

Screenshot_20180813-062418.jpg

Last but certainly not least I have been working on my routine. The honest truth is I have been going to the gym and eating a lot better over the last year without a serious routine! I have just started really looking into having a set of things I do every single day to develop myself and for the most part, those have only included health and eating. I have read that we are all creatures of habit and that we are no more than what we repeatedly do. That’s so very powerful for me because I have been consumed with fat loss that I haven’t been focused on all the other things I want to do with my life. I’m working on a routine for sleep, a routine for my soul’s progression and a routine for my inner working so that I may have balance in ALL areas of my life.

That’s all I have for today. I am in the process of developing a schedule for my blog and website and the podcast so I promise I will get my act together and be more consistent and informative about my whereabouts! I love you all and I believe in each and every single one of you! Have a fantastic day and go be the best YOU ever today!

Big Boi Koncepts!

Screenshot_20180731-051425.jpg

Good morning everyone and happy Tuesday morning to you and yours! I’m currently drying off from the lift I did at the gym this morning. I had to get up at about 2 a.m in the morning but hey it’s done! I apologize for my missing in action for a week but with the new job I have been getting tons of cardio and learning the ropes. Today I am here and ready to spread a little love and health update, so sit back, grab that great coffee and let’s do it!Screenshot_20180731-051501.jpg

Like I said earlier I got up a little too early to get my lift in because I have fasted and those are the best workouts for me! Today was chest and triceps and I went up in weight and also did more reps on the tricep workout. My form could use a little tune-up because my arms should burn a little more than they are this morning.lol. As you would imagine I had the gym completely to myself with only the front desk guy doing a small workout because the place was a ghost town! I absolutely love an open gym and the idea that I fasted on both workouts has me feeling very proud of ME this morning for sure. My goal is to lift Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday this week.

Screenshot_20180731-051630.jpg

I am still alternate day fasting and it still feels a little harder than I would have thought. I just fast on the days I work, that way it’s simple but I find that I am super hungry when I’m working all day so I have been taking advantage of having 600 calories on my fasting days. While it’s not a true fast I really need to put something in my body or I feel drained but it may have to do with me not getting enough healthy fats on my feasting days. I seem to be at a little plateau in my fat loss and not losing any fat at the moment even though I know I have been getting Chinese a few times since the kids are out of town. It’s probably that damn fried rice.lol. Oh well, it’s back to the basics this week and with my fasting, I should see some changes in the right direction and give you all a weight update. Typically I don’t post anything if it hasn’t changed and since I’m stuck I’m just waiting to get down lower so I can report some good progress!

My diet hasn’t been perfect keto but it has been very low carb and I have been getting a ton of green smoothies in my regular routine! I restrict carbs so much that when I do have more than normal boy do I carry a ton of water weight around.lol. This week I am going to meal prep some baked chicken and steamed broccoli casserole and you know I’ll take pictures for the blog. I will say that eating every other day has saved my family a ton of money because I was always eating the most and now I’m not even close.lol. I’m so happy to report that I have had zero meals at my new job so I can be happy that I haven’t had that monkey on my back! There’s some amazing stuff at my job too and I just made a promise that I wouldn’t use my employee discount on food at work until I was sure it would be good low carb foods!

The job is absolutely working! The cardio I get from scrambling around is amazing, don’t get me wrong I’m feeling it but it’s a good healthy exhaustion and I’m only working a few intense hours 3 days a week so I am blessed! I can see why people serve because for the money it’s just so little time out of my day and I’m able to do other things. I mean last Friday after work I still had time to hit the gym that night and had a great workout so I can’t really complain about the hours! I’m lucky in that I only have to work lunch shifts as of now and my schedule is pretty much up to me. There’s definitely an end game in mind because serving is not something I see myself doing for the rest of my life unless I just fall in love it! It’s fun and exciting and I must admit I like meeting new and interesting people! It’s a military town and I am truly humbled by how many men and women are putting themselves in harm’s way for my freedom! Lastly, on this subject I have to admit the money is really good and we haven’t even got busy, business tends to increase once the fall comes and kids start school which is next week here so I got in at a great time!

20170717_221514.jpg

I saved the best for last! I have started a podcast and I am super excited about it! Lot’s of people have asked me questions about my journey and obesity and I thought it would be fun and helpful to start one! I call it Big Boi Koncepts and it’s a podcast that focuses mostly on obesity and how to navigate the waters to become your best self! I have just gotten started but I truly encourage any and everyone to listen and if you have any advice or ideas as always I’m here to listen!

Self-love Deposits Homies

Screenshot_20180503-055911.jpg

Good morning, What yall know about us reaching another glorious Thursday? How real is that? Today, not only are we one day away from Friday but it’s my favorite day of the week, nobody hates on Thursday’s homies! Today I wish you a renewed passion and love for all the things in life you enjoy and love! Find a reason and a way to be happy because it’s a decision and it starts from the time you wake up till the time you lay it down! I got you If you need any encouragement and love this morning just hit me up!lol. So let’s get into what’s going down and what’s already transpired ya dig?

Screenshot_20180503-055804.jpg

Screenshot_20180503-043806.jpg

Yesterday I hit the gym on that first real workout since I been back from the west coast and I must admit that having a little break from the gym has really helped! My muscles had a chance to relax and recover from my constant pulling and pushing and it was much needed! It’s also very important to step back once and awhile because when you re-engage you realize just how hard your workout really is which will allow you to assess and see if you need to go harder or change up the workout!  This week I decided instead of changing everything I would simply change the time I workout and add a second workout to my day. This fine Thursday saw me rise and grind at 4 a.m and hit the gym for a quick cardio session, later today I’ll go back and do a back and bicep workout and try a few new lifts so I can slowly change my routine. The reason for the change is so that I can get a jump on the day but also concentrate on my writing early in the morning. Hopefully, this will lead to a more productive day and increase my fat loss at the same time! I AM CHANGE remember that? That’s me and that’s the approach you need to take sometimes if you’re looking for a different and more fruitful return on your efforts. Going to the gym is fun but I’m not just in it for fun but RESULTS, if that’s not the goal then I’m just wasting time and money ya know?

Lately, my grub game(diet) has been all over the place but in a good way. I’ve been narrowing down my variety and focusing more on the simple, tried and true keto meals I know and love! For example yesterday I found this cauliflower hash veggie mix at Kroger and I added it to some ground sausage to make some delicious crackslaw! If you read my blog then you know I love this stuff and it’s so easy even a dude like me can do it! My coffee is a must when I’m keto strong and I’ve been using less Keto meal and doing coconut oil, MCT oil and Kerrygold butter in my cup of joe. It’s a great way to get in good healthy fats without taking a hit in the carb department! I’ve been doing zero snacking because I’m at my best when I have 2 large meals a day and fast for at least 16-18 hours daily. My water game has stayed on point and if I don’t get at least 6 to 8 glasses of water my body feels dry like a desert for real! My ceiling for carbs in a day is 50 and that’s higher than regular therapeutic keto but again it works for me so that’s what I’m doing. Tonight I’m having baked chicken and probably lamb from the freezer with a green monster shake, like my son Marcus always says “It ain’t hard, it’s easy!” So stay steady and stay down and the results will take care of themselves!

Did you know we all have an unbelievable dept to pay? We are in debt to ourselves and we owe dues on the regular to the bank of self-love and worth. It is absolutely your responsibility to pay yourself in full with all the self-love and praise you can level. The vaults of your happiness should be full of capital! Make regular deposits and you will keep earning dividends that will benefit not only you but everyone around you! That’s some financial responsibility for your ass right there! lol. Enjoy your day and help someone else enjoy theirs!

518!

Screenshot_20180429-012215.jpg

That’s right homies after a very big and emotional 10-day tour I’m back and feeling amazing! My trip was everything I thought it would be and then an extra bag of chips homie! I drove from Kentucky to Cali and back again so ya boi been going and going! Let’s get it homies!

As the title says I’m 518 which means if you follow my blog I lost 6 pounds while I was on tha get back tour which is incredible with all the driving and stuff I did, I mean I did travel alone so there’s that! I pre-made some meals so that I could keep it keto and I did for the most part. I did a little walking and beach strolling so maybe that helped in the fat loss but I think it was just the truly life-altering circumstances surrounding my trip! Not only did I lose weight but I feel more motivated than ever to get healthier and healthier!

I’m back in the gym Monday with a hard lift because I didn’t pick up one damn weight while I was traveling and that’s a shame but hey it happens I guess. My plan is to slowly start changing my routine like I said I would when I got back. I’ll be trying some different exercises and muscle groups as well as getting some outdoor cardio at the park and other places! This month I will be doing a pushup challenge so hit me up if you want in and I will also be doing some dynamic stretching and trying my hand at yoga for big boys I call it.lol. I will break my workout down better when I get it all finished and settled!

20180420_144220.jpg

My diet has been really steady considering all the travel. Don’t get me wrong I had a few fast food stops but I never ate too many calories and I certainly kept my keto on high alert! The biggest thing I had was maybe too much wine at my mom’s house but hey it was delicious and I’ll probably do that every time I go visit her so it’s all good.lol. My stepdad Charles put some really great food together and I ate like a king, I’m so very grateful! Now that I’m right back to fasting and eating 2 meals daily, I have been missing my bulletproof coffee very much! I’ve been eating so much snack food being on the road so much that now that I’m back I need to get back to my routine, I have a lot more work to do yall! Sorry, I didn’t blog but I’m back and I will be providing more and more posts!

It’s 3 in the morning so I’m going to end here and get some rest but I have missed you all very much!

SundayFit

Screenshot_20180415-113505.jpg

Good morning everyone and happy Sunday to you and yours! It’s a very rainy and cloudy morning here but the birds are out and chirping so hopefully that means there are great skies ahead! I’ve been a little absent this week and I apologize I have just been getting ready for my road trip to Cali Thursday and I had a lot of loose ends to tie up before I could feel comfy leaving! I already know you all have been killing your goals and chasing your dreams because you guys are amazing! So let’s get into it!

Screenshot_20180415-113623.jpg

Today I hit the gym to do some low-intensity steady state cardio or L.I.S.S. for short. Normally I do the stairs but I have been trying to give my knees a break because of all the flights plus doing squats daily! They were getting sore and I want to make sure I am up for walking around with the kids when I get to the Westcoast. This week I was able to get all 4 lifts in and also some cardio, even though I haven’t been blogging as much the drive is still sharp and better than ever! later tonight I’ll go back to the gym for round two so that I can lift and do more cardio. I’ll be driving a few days so I need to get a head start on my workouts so that when I get to the hotel I’ll be right on track with my routine! This trip isn’t really about sightseeing and stuff as much as it is spending quality time with my kids and a beautiful change of venue. There is a nice gym at my hotel in Cali so I will be making sure I do my best to get something done even if it’s just a short something.lol. My last workout here will probably be Tuesday and then I’ll start resting and getting ready to drive!

We have been all about our diet this past week for real! Not just keeping it low carb and keto but also coming up with some tasty meals to keep our stomachs interested. I have been keeping my carbs down below 50 while lowering my fats a little to help burn more fat and stay full longer. We have switched to doing shopping a month in advance so it has really helped to prepare some large dishes and freeze them for later. I’m definitely taking my food with me when I go on my trip, I’ve come too far and worked too hard to let a road trip get me going backward. I know that I will indulge a little but no more than I do when I’m home and I have a small cheat. I’m loading up my cooler and bags with Keto cool snacks while I am away and don’t plan on getting any gas station stuff with the exception of black coffee or tea. I’m going to leave a few pictures of some food we have been having lately, it’s not fancy but very delicious and simple which is the whole point! Click pic for names:

Today I am in the middle of a 36 hour fast with only having coffee and a little broth if I get hungry. When I did it last week it felt pretty easy and I want to try to do a couple of these fasts to mix up my regular 18 daily fasts. The whole point is to keep wielding control over my true hunger and get to a point that I’m more and more insulin sensitive as well as Leptin sensitive. This whole process has really helped me distinguish between hunger and thirst as well as taking full control over my eating habits. I honestly will not be doing fasts longer than 36 hours unless I’m instructed by a doctor, I feel the benefits of a fast this long are sufficient and as long as it doesn’t get stressful I’ll keep using it!

That’s about all I have today but I plan on taking my computer with me while I’m tripping so I will certainly be blogging, plus I don’t leave till Thursday at midnight so I’ll be blogging before I leave. I’m still here and available if anyone needs any help or encouragement, that will never change! have a fabulous Sunday homie!

Lift Comp!

Screenshot_20180411-170655.jpg

Hey homies how’s it going? I’m writing this a little late because my workout and fasting have changed a little bit so I didn’t get up in time to write early. I have really been working on my sleep because I know I need to focus on getting better sleep! Anyway, I am writing now to say happy hump day for you and yours and let’s have a wonderful rest of the week! Of course, I am going to update yall on what I’ve been doing!

I never workout at the gym on Wednesday and I’m glad I don’t because it was super busy.lol. The people at my gym are really nice and helpful but there are just so many people doing so many different machines you feel like just turning back and going home! Of course, you know I didn’t do that I was actually motivated by all the people and I had one of the best workouts I have ever had! I mean my back was killing me but in a good way and I swear me and this 70-year-old lady have issues because every time I did an exercise she did it. I mean movement for movement and I really got into a heated lift off against a senior citizen and honestly, I’m not sure I won! What I do know is that woman is a beast and if I’m like her when I’m that age then I will be super happy! Tomorrow I have chest again and then I have to do some makeup cardio I missed yesterday! I’ll be on my regular schedule tomorrow and I think I will be feeling a little better not having a liftoff.lol.

Listen I have noticed that I have a secret weapon if I miss the gym because sometimes your schedule just doesn’t allow me to hit the gym. That weapon is fasting! So this whole fasting thing has been the single most powerful tool I have found in my fat loss journey even more than Keto. Although I didn’t workout yesterday I extended my fast from 18 hours to 24 hours! This allowed my body to do what it was designed to do which is to clean my insides like a pit crew and get me running at optimum level! Fasting has allowed me to feel in control of my eating problem and it has truly been the key to any success I have had so far! Simply put when your body has no food after digestion it begins to operate all your interior organs with stored fat! Man, are you serious? I’m sure tons of you knew that but not me and now that I know I will continue to use intermittent fasting as a tool to achieve my ultimate health. If you all get time please ask or google fasting and do some research it really is eye-opening!

On the diet front, I broke my fast with some wings from Longhorn and a delicious sweet kale salad! If you know me you know I really dig this place so it’s no surprised I ordered some for today and for my dinner tonight! I may be single-handedly keeping them in business and at the very least I know they have had to order more poultry! It’s really amazing thank goodness it’s low carb I would be in real trouble! We have been playing around with some fun quick food choices and I have a few pictures so yall can see. Don’t let your diet get too boring or overwhelming just relax and buy things that will allow you to keep to whatever way you plan to eat to crush your goals!

That’s all I have for today I apologize but I’m going to Cali next week and I have been getting ready to roll so my mind has been so focused on the trip that I haven’t been as consistent as I would like! I’ll make a better effort I promise. Have an amazing day today and enjoy the rest of the week because ready or not it’s coming.lol

Tripped Up

Screenshot_20180330-072421.jpg

Happy Friday everyone! I must admit to being very tired this morning and I should have gone back to bed this morning but you know how it is, sometimes you have to drag yourself out of bed and just go! I’m up and at ’em now so no excuses right? If you are celebrating the holiday this weekend I wish you fun and safe travels and even if you aren’t I still wish you the same.lol

The gym was empty again yesterday and I got in a great workout pretty much by myself so no complaints here. My chest and shoulders are a little sore but I really pushed hard thru my workout and I added onto the volume of my reps so I feel great about that! Currently, I am also doing a 100 squats a day challenge so my legs are really feeling the burn because that along with my amped up cardio and stairs have put a ton more on my knees and legs. I’m not complaining I’m sure that it will pay off and I’ll be happy that I am getting more lower body work! My inner thighs are already feeling firmer and more flexible so I’m really happy about that! Today I’m back to doing back/biceps along with my squats and Fitbit step goal. If there is one thing I really need to work on it’s creating a pre-workout routine for warming up my muscles, I have really been slacking on that at my shoulders are starting to pay the price.lol.

My diet is going great but I certainly hit a snag of my own doing! I tell you guys everything so I have to tell you that Monday night I had a mini binge with a box of donuts and I had a few pieces of bread and of course I never eat bread anymore and it didn’t turn out too good. I didn’t get sick but when I stepped on the scale this past Wednesday it said I gained like 7 pounds! Now while I know I didn’t gain that much and that it’s probably water it sucks because I know that I made the decision to eat like that and it’s just not worth gaining weight! I’ve been doing so well and it’s not a big deal other than it’s not how I want to do things anymore. I’m o.k with having a treat every now and again but right now I’m on an aggressive stretch of my fat loss journey! I set a few unrealistic goals and I have been crushing them so far so when my results come down to earth I get a little disappointed. It happens to everyone and I haven’t missed a workout or eaten bad since Monday. In fact, I have been in a caloric deficit even lower than normal because now that I’m back to my routine I’m just not as hungry, probably because of all the water from those damn donuts! Life happens and I am not down on myself but I really am pissed that my goal and the timetable I set may not happen because I went a little backward ya know?

Although I am a little disappointed I am still changed! I am not the person I used to be and I won’t stop doing what I have been doing to this point! I will keep making healthy choices and taking control of my eating and habits! Having a cheat here and it isn’t bad but it is for me because of the goals I set for myself. My goals are so high that I really don’t like any setbacks at all!.lol. I’ve become obsessed yall.lol. For me, it’s a good thing because I really want to be better than I was the day before and it’s just a personal thing between me and my old self!

I love you all very much and I know that life can get hard sometimes but keep your head up and remember that storms will come but you can overcome anything! Have an extraordinary day and weekend!

Family Matters

Screenshot_20180328-064310.jpg

Well, good morning homies! It’s hump day and I apologize for the delay I have been doing a lot of family stuff and I got caught up in that arena! The family had a scare because my girl’s aunt had to be rushed to the hospital but it looks like for now at least she is getting better! Loretta is one of my favorite people on this planet so I had to make sure my girl got a chance to be there for the fam, that’s what all this stuff is about! Family first, second to god in my book! I’m here this morning and your reading this so let’s get on with the get down!

Screenshot_20180325-205109.jpg

Monday and Tuesday I actually got to work out before all of the family issues happened and they were quality workouts!(I love you aunt Loretta stay up in there!). my gym squad at the gym was completely absent and that’s weird for me to be in the gym by myself especially at like 1 p.m. in the day! I’m sure the crew will be back to it tomorrow, they are just people that workout at the same time I do but I don’t really know them personally but hey it feels weird when I don’t see my familiar gym folks. lol. Today is my all day cardio day and I started it off this morning with 30 flights of stairs! I have to do 35 today because I have to go up every week so I still got 5 more I owe, then I have my 100 squats to do and then my steps for the Fitbit and then swimming: so hopefully I will be able to get everything in! That’s the plan, what y’all got going on today, I’d love to hear what everyone is working on!

20180327_145610.jpg

So if you follow me on Instagram you know I had a big carb day on Monday night and I mean it was a big one! Honestly, I don’t regret it one bit because I know I’m an addict and I know that means I have to get right back to me and that’s what I did. Tuesday I had a hard fasted workout and I ate really light and all keto! As a sugar addict, I have to be very careful when I eat a few because like a true feen it could compound and turn into a week or a month and several months, I got issues.lol. Having a cheat meal or day is something you just have to play around with and see how it works for you. Just remember it’s the exception, not the rule and you must get back to doing you as soon as possible because fat loss is slow and steady but fat gain is damn near instant in my book. lmao! O.k. that’s not completely true but it feels like it for me. Today I will break my fast with my Keto coffee and some bacon and shredded chicken! Then for my last meal, I will probably have a green smoothie and bowl of Shirataki noodles and chicken! The plan is to make a keto friendly lime cheesecake tonight for dessert but I’ll definitely keep it low to no carbs and have just 1 piece, I’ll let ya’ll know how it turns out as normal! We should be getting my keto granola and that grass-fed meat order tomorrow so I’ll be showing that off as well because I can’t wait to try both! We right back at it!

Screenshot_20180328-064422.jpg

Do me a favor ya’ll, make a decision to be happy today! We all go through trials and tribulations but making a decision to be happy will help you to get thru anything. Don’t walk over all these blessings in your life and focus on what’s wrong today. Today keep in mind that you got a gift of fresh air and life today and that should carry you far today! No one is promised anything in this life but happiness is something we can have every single day and I wish that for all of you today! Let everyone know you’re happy too, that joy will help others get thru their day as well! Trust me it’s hard to have a rough day with a person who is positive and happy! I love you all and I appreciate your place in this world and in my life! Have a fabulous day!
